Arsenal star, Alexis Sanchez is reportedly eager to seal a deal to reunite with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City such that he is ready to take a pay cut.
The 28-year-old Sanchez is getting into the closing year of his deal with the Gunners with people speculating on where he will be headed to after his contract ends.
Four European giants namely Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are all rumoured to have links with moves for the Chilean forward. However, Arsene Wenger has maintained that the club does not intend to sell him this summer.
But according to reports by The Independent, the South American star prefers to have his future decided on in August such that he might consider taking a pay cut to force his move to the Etihad Stadium.
It seems like Sanchez is still reluctant to sign a new deal at Arsenal and would readily go for lower pay instead of the £300,000-per-week that the Gunners are offering for him to switch to Etihad Stadium.
Sanchez is also reportedly eager to link up with Pep Guardiola at Man City. Incidentally, he worked under him and proceeded to win the LaLiga title with Guardiola at his former club Barcelona prior to joining Arsenal in 2014 for £30million.
The football star has bagged two FA Cups since he moved to north London but he desperately wants to win top European honours before he hangs up his boots. And with a possible switch to Paris Saint-Germain now seemingly unlikely, he is said to see a move to Mnchester City as his best opportunity to land more trophies.
Guardiola has been having lots of engagements this season and Manchester City have demonstrated their seriousness this summer, having clinched five major signings with Benjamin Mendy arriving from Monaco on Monday. Mendy’s arrival has pushed their spending to more than £200million.
