Manchester City fans made it clear that they want to keep Joe Hart after the England goalkeeper was dropped by Pep Guardiola
Pep Guardiola described Joe Hart as part of Manchester City’s history after the goalkeeper was given a rousing send off by fans.
City supporters made it clear that they want the England international to stay at the Etihad, despite Claudio Bravo’s arrival from Barcelona.
Guardiola’s treatment of the 29-year-old has not been well-received by supporters – who let their feelings be known during Wednesday’s Champions League qualifier against Steaua Bucharest.
But City’s manager is standing by his decision to drop Hart, who looks to have played his final game for the club.
“I know that Joe is a legend,” Guardiola told BT Sport. “I know how important he is for this club, I know what he did in this club.
“He’s part of the history – he’s still part of the history because he is our player.

“But he knows. He knows when I arrived, my decisions, what I think about that position, and that’s all.
“I am so happy with his performance, and I like a lot when the people support him, and how important it is.
“There’s no doubt about that.”
Hart looks set to leave City before the transfer window closes next week, with the game against Steaua almost certainly his final appearance for the club.
Everton were leading the chase for him, but the Merseysiders are reluctant to pay £7m for a one-year loan deal.
