The former Manchester United star limps out of Argentina’s World Cup qualifier with shin injury

Manchester City’s Champions league opponents Paris St Germain have been given an injury scare just a week before the two teams meet.

The French champions’ star attacker Angel di Maria was forced to limp out of Argentina’s World Cup qualifying win over Bolivia with a shin injury after taking a heavy blow in a tackle.

Former Manchester United man Di Maria is one of the main PSG threats as the Blues prepare to travel to the Parc des Princes for the first leg of the quarter-final next Wednesday.

Di Maria was initially treated on the pitch with a pain-killing spray, but was unable to continue and was substituted after 31 minutes as his team won the game 2-0.

City had been worried going into the game as the pitch at the Mario Kempes Stadium in Cordoba had been left bare and rutted by two rock concerts and heavy rain.
