Jason Denayer is considering a move away from Manchester City as he feels he won’t be given opportunities to play regularly under Pep Guardiola.
The 21-year-old is understood to be considering his future at The Etihad after becoming concerned at the lack of opportunities given to him by new manager Pep Guardiola .
He spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, playing 28 Super Lig and Champions League matches and now their sporting director Levent Nazifoglu has confirmed they want to sign him permanently.
He told Turkish Football : “Denayer settled in well last season and we want him back but it all now depends on what he says and what Manchester City decide.
“We want him and so does the manager and City know this.”
The Belgium defender was named in the squad that travelled to Gothenburg for Sunday’s friendly with Arsenal but he didn’t play any part in the game, despite City starting with a makeshift centre-back pairing of Aleksandar Kolarov and Fernan
The arrival of Everton centre-back John Stones for £47.5m is expected to push him further down the pecking order.
Denayer is understood to be disillusioned with the situation and is weighing up his options.
Denayer’s representatives see a move back to Galatasaray as a possibility – but they are keeping their options open and are prepared to look elsewhere for a move that secures the player first-team football.
Arsenal are also thought to be interested in the prospect of signing him.
