Paul Scholes believes Ilkay Gundogan is the signing of the summer so far in the Premier League .
Gundogan joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in June, despite him suffering a dislocated kneecap towards the end of his time in Germany.
When asked which signing had impressed him the most, the former United star told Sport Witness:
“I think Gundogan is a really impressive player. I’ve seen a lot of him at Borussia Dortmund.”
City paid just £20 million for Gundogan, a fee Scholes says represents excellent value for money.
However, the former United midfielder is concerned about his injury record.
“I think he has a lot of injury problems, which could be a problem,” he said.
“If he can stay fit, I think he can be a fantastic player. I also think he is a great value for the money Manchester City paid for him. I think he is a bargain.”
