The study by Fish4jobs shows how the Premier League clubs would finish based on the affordability of their season tickets when compared to the average weekly wage of their local residents.

It reveals that West Ham offer the most affordable season ticket in the Premier League, whilst Liverpool are the least affordable club to follow for locals.

Manchester United were 14th in the table as it would take 76 hours of work to pay for Old Trafford’s most affordable season ticket at £532, according to the report.

Liverpool finished bottom of the Premier League table, as local residents would have to work for 98 hours – the equivalent of 12 working days – to be able to purchase the most affordable season ticket at Anfield. The most affordable season ticket at Anfield costs an eye-watering £685, compared to the average resident weekly wage of £392.90.

Ranking lowest in terms of their average weekly wage are Leicester City, as local residents take home an average wage of £343.80, which is particularly interesting considering Leicester are the current Premier League champions. It takes the local residents of Leicester 64 hours of work to purchase the most affordable season ticket to the King Power Stadium.

The most expensive season ticket in the Premier League is Arsenal Football Club costing a staggering £1,014. This is reflective of the average wage of local residents of £660.70 per week. Arsenal locals rank second for average local resident weekly wages after Chelsea who top the table with with a local resident weekly wage of £632.30.

The clubs which join Liverpool at the foot of the table for the least affordable season tickets are Arsenal, with 93 hours of work required; and Southampton, with 90 hours of work required to purchase the most affordable season ticket.
