Joe Hart says qualifying for the semi-finals is a big moment in the club’s history.
After the 1-0 win over PSG, Hart said:
“I’m pleased. It was a really good night for us. I’m pleased how it went.
The end result, looking at it now, we were in control the whole way. The boys were solid.
Over the four games, including the Kiev games (in the last 16), it was key how we performed and we put ourselves in good positions.
We’re in the semi-finals now and we deserve to be there.
It is nice. It is something we have been pushing for as a club. I’ve been involved in this from the start and I am proud we are finally getting where we want to be.”
Sergio Aguero says Manuel Pellegrini will be a happy man after last night’s win.
The striker also said he wants to see City continue to develop in the competition.
It is important for (Pellegrini) and for all of us. Obviously it is important for him because he knows he won’t be here for next season so I imagine he must be very happy, very pleased. I hope we can go even further.
The confidence is there, we are in semis and anything can happen. We will be at our maximum, depending on who we play against, but we will be going all out to win it.
This was our goal, to be among the four best teams in the Champions League and now we want to keep growing.”
PSG’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic says the Ligue 1 outfit were the better team against City last night!
The Swede believes they “gave away” the tie.
In the first half we played with a new system and what happened, happened. If it had gone well, nobody would say anything, and now people will say we gave it away.
The second half was better, when we reverted to our normal tactics, but we gave away two games. I think we are a better team, but we lost tonight and we drew 2-2 at home, so all the best to Manchester City.
