Manchester City’s Ashley Smith-Brown is due to formally join Scottish Premiership side Hearts over the next two days on a season-long deal. The deal to sign him was announced by Hearts. However, an international clearance is required to validate the agreement.

The 21-year-old will become City’s club’s sixth summer signing.

Smith-Brown, who spent last season at NAC Breda in the Netherlands on loan as the Dutch club and was promoted to the top-flight, carries on with his career in Scotland. This is after Hearts warded off EFL clubs in England that showed interest in signing him.

The youthful player represented England at each level – right through to under-20s. He will be hopeful that a good loan stint in Scotland can perhaps increase his hopes of sticking at Manchester City for a long time.
