The Man City manager is in bullish mood ahead of the Blues Champions League showdown with Paris St Germain.

Quietly confident Manuel Pellegrini insists Manchester City are not second best to Champions League rivals Paris St Germain.

And the Blues boss revealed Joe Hart will return for the quarter-final showdown in the French capital to further boost morale following their 4-0 win against Bournemouth last weekend.

City have a significantly more demanding test tonight against the already-crowned Ligue 1 champions, but go into it with their first choice goalkeeper back in the line-up following the calf injury he sustained in the derby.

“Joe worked without any problems in the last days,” said the Chilean.

“Of course you always have a risk, especially when you are coming back from an injury, but we made all the medical tests with Joe and he doesn’t have any problems.”

City have seen their Premier League title challenge blown off course since the announcement of Pep Guardiola as Pellegrini’s successor for next season in February.

But the City boss is determined that the Euro challenge will not come unstuck and when asked if City were underdogs going into the first-leg clash with Zlatan Ibrahomic and Co, he said: “I don’t think so.

“Both teams have options to continue to the next stage. Maybe if it is a small team you can say they have less options to continue but I don’t think it’s that way.

“The options are 50 per cent for each team.”
