Manchester City players are set to dress in a remarkable “True Berry” number during their trips next season following the club’s unveiling of their away kit for the 2017/18 season. This was revealed by the club’s summer signings namely Danilo and Ederson, Phil Foden and Leroy Sane during City’s pre-season tour of the U.S. It consists of the Nike Aeroswift strip advertised as “all-maroon” by the Premier League club,

The kit will be worn for the very first time on July 26 in the club’s pre-season clash in Los Angeles with European and Spanish Champions Real Madrid, and City’s fans will have the opportunity to lay their hands on it the following day.

The shirts and socks have a sky-blue trimming – the newest in a series of maroon kits gives a nod to Manchester City’s 1967/68 league title winning side.

A feeling of reminiscence lingers between the goal posts – with the all maroon outfield kit matched with a characteristic green shirt, shorts plus socks for the goalkeepers.

A statement issued by the club stated:  “If the design pays reference to the past, then Nike’s Aeroswift technology most certainly gives the kit a truly modern feel.”

It went on: “As the most advanced apparel innovation to date, the Aeroswift kit has engineered knit zones on the shirt, which enhance fit when playing.

It further shed more light on the club’s away kit:  “The sides of the kit feature a black stripe with blue underlay that runs the length of the shirt and blue shorts, expanding when in motion to maximise ventilation.”
